Your in-service day is already set — here's where you sort out the rest
You're not picking a date from a calendar. You already have one, somewhere in the school year plan, and you want to know if it's free — and if it stays free while you arrange everything internally.
Why an option, and not a direct booking
An in-service day isn't chosen at the moment you go looking for training — it's usually already been set months, sometimes a school year, in advance, fixed in the school calendar. By the time you get here, the date is already fixed on your end. What still needs to happen is the administration: approval from leadership, coordination with the team, maybe a conversation with the data protection officer.
That administration takes time. Without an option, you'd risk another school claiming the same date while you're still arranging things — and your in-service day, fixed months ago, suddenly no longer available at Teacherhelp. The option exists to prevent that.
Fourteen days, held just for you
From the intake conversation onward, your date is set aside for two weeks. No one else can claim it during that period.
-
You request the date
Through the half-hour intake conversation, or directly by email with the date already in your school calendar.
-
The date is held
For fourteen days, this date is reserved for you. During that time you can arrange everything internally — approval, team, data protection — without having to defend the date against another school.
-
Written confirmation, or the option expires
Confirm within fourteen days, and the day is fixed and your school appears — only with your consent — on the calendar. Hear nothing, and the date becomes free again for another school after fourteen days.
Why there's a maximum per day
For most participants, this is unfamiliar territory. Anyone working with this approach for the first time needs intensive support during the training itself — not afterward, through a manual, but at the moment the question comes up.
That's why there's a cap on the number of participants per day. Beyond that number, long waiting times set in, and that's exactly what needs to be avoided: a teacher waiting twenty minutes for their turn gets frustrated and checks out before the day has really begun. The goal is for every participant to master the system independently after that one day — and that only works with enough support per person, throughout the day.
A larger school with more teachers than that maximum isn't turned away, but spread across multiple days — with a group discount to offset the extra planning. That maximum currently stands at forty participants per day. See the calendar for open dates.
Hold your date
Through the calendar on the calendar page, or simply by email — both options start the same process.
Prefer to just email?
Send the date from your school calendar to info@teacherhelp.be, along with the school's name and the number of teachers. The fourteen-day option starts as soon as that message arrives.
